To significantly reduce the effort on the reefing line, the drum is additionally mounted on two cylindrical roller bearings to distribute the radial load of the reefing line and thus significantly reduce the force required for reefing. This guarantees a particularly smooth run and therefore maximum safety even under extreme loads. The bearings are of course equipped with seals to protect against salt water and dirt. This significantly extends the service intervals and hence also the longevity of the system.

For the first time a manual reefing system is equipped with an adjustment mechanism with interior and thereby completely protected threads that can be operated externally. The forestay length can thereby be adjusted precisely and the mast and sail can be optimally trimmed. At a maximum adjusted length the RS2000 can easily be installed on ships of any size and without any disassembly. The adjustment is possible to do with furled as well as with unfurled sails.

Manufactured according to Reckmann’s precise specifications, the Spectra tapered reef lines are very secure and stretch very little. Whilst the thin section forward allows for small drum diameters and therefore requires less force in the case of larger roll radiuses, the thicker end section distinguishes itself by offering outstanding grip.

These high performance carbon-sections are very strong for a very low weight. The sections offer a much better sail performance due to a weight saving of approx. 50%-60% compared to aluminium sections.
