Hydraulic above deck furling system
The RF90 is a hydraulic high performance reefing system for foresails built to be virtually maintenance free and with superior gear technology these systems offer maximum performance and longevity. The integration of spiral-mesh gearing, sophisticated bearing design and a self-braking worm gear, result in a quiet and smooth running system, which meet the highest industry standards.
All systems in this series are equipped with an easy to operate length adjuster for optimal trimming of mast and sail.
The hydraulic supported length adjusters are available starting with model RF90-4.
The unique manual drive ensures the greatest possible level of security. By simply inserting a standard winch handle, the electric drive will disconnect and switch to manual operation. Due to this special gear mechanism that prevents sail forces from transferring to the winch handle, the reefing system can be safely and easily operated, even when in manual mode.
The furler tack swivel rings have a double axial bearing. This means that even heavy loads can be carried reliably. In order to avoid point loading on the bearings, loads are distributed using distribution plates over the whole bearing.
The integrated length adjustment is easy to use and works even when the sail is bent. This means that rigs and sails can be trimmed exactly.
RF-90 series furling systems are optionally available with hydraulic length adjustment for adjusting forestay lengths. For yachts with several forestays, the load is shifted quickly and comfortably between the various forestays. Furling systems with this function bear the label “RT” in the description.
The Reckmann high-performance halyard swivels turn with extremely low amounts of friction, thereby guaranteeing a secure operation without twisting the halyard. The compact design and size graduation ensure a low weight aloft.
This new development from Reckmann means there is no need for a toggle. The compact design makes it possible to save on toggle length. The design can be integrated, load-optimised, into carbon fibre structures.
The tack slider or floating tack swivel allows the sail luff to be tensioned independently of the stay. This is a necessary addition, specifically with sails that have a halyard lock.
Our carbon profiles offer high resistance and low weight at the same time. A weight reduction of 50-60 % in comparison with conventional aluminium profiles means that there is a significant improvement in performance.
