The second generation of the Schuldt family joins the company

Horst Schuldt, master sail maker, managed the company from 1962. During this time the first aluminium masts for dinghies and boats for Olympic competitors were built and increasingly ranked as the sought-after standard

Dragon class

It was thanks to Horst Schuldt’s success as a dragon sailor in national and international regattas, that many decided to use Reckmann sails and masts for their own boats.

The RF90-5 prototype is installed on the A&R Yacht 'Extra Beat’ by the successful designer German Frers. The system represents today’s standard on most of the super yachts.

Megayacht-Furler

With the RF90-7 the age of the very big superyachts began for Reckmann in the furler business. The RF 90-7 was the beginning of large-size furling technologies, which lead to the boom in the mega sailing yacht business.

Stick-slip free deck bearing fitting

The world’s first ball beard stick-slip-free deck bearing fitting is especially developed for below deck furler constructions and prevents a strong bending moment at tacking. Stay Sail Furler

This invention of a combined stay tensioning cylinder and a furling unit as a sleek, compact unit was revolutionary. And it is still today one of the “hidden inventions by Reckmann”, which is been imitated by competitors.

Floating Tack Arrangement

The innovative floating tack arrangement developed by Reckmann offers the advantage of fine adjusting the luff tension also under use of a hooked-halyard system. The whole system prevents mast compression, which lead to higher stability, more control und efficient power.

Mega furler RF90-7.5

Was ready early in 2010. The newly developed RF90-7.5 was installed in ‘Kokomo’, 'Aglaia' and 'Vertigo'. During the first sea trials the new features e.g. luff cunningham swivel and real time adjuster, proved their worth. Further development of the RF90-7.5 was necessary as the demands on functionality and cost increased with modern 60m performance cruisers. Result: Nominated for the Super Yacht award.

Reckmann celebrates 120 successful years.

Takeover of Holmatro Rigging Hydraulics

Reckmann takes over rigging components from Holmatro to extend its portfolio with hydraulic cylinders, pumps and powerpacks.

Reckmann’s product portfolio for electric and hydraulic drives for furling booms extended with the takeover of the Dutch company NSM.

Takeover of Sailtec Custom Projects

This take over made it possible for Reckmann to break into the fascinating sun-shade systems market.

The RF90-8.5 is Reckmann’s largest head-sail furling system and our newest milestone. With probably the largest torque in the market, a completely new developed, redundant engine concept, it started successful in the market of 60m+ yachts. The self-locking, the integrated hydraulic valve technologies and the bending free toggle are further highlights of this innovative new furling system.
